Live Oak Community Plan

Santa Cruz County

Live Oak is an unincorporated but urbanized community nestled between the cities of Santa Cruz and Capitola on the beautiful Monterey Bay coast.  As a part of the County's General Plan Update process, David Early worked with County staff and the residents of Live Oak to develop a defined urban image for the area, key activity centers, and coordinated road and pedestrian-bicycle improvements.  The Plan provided a balance between provision of affordable housing and protection of single-family neighborhoods.  An important part of the project was planning and conducting a series of public workshops to identify opportunities, develop and evaluate alternatives, and specify improvements.*
