Pajaro Futures Project Land and Building Inventory

Community Alliance with Family Farmers

DC&E compiled a complex inventory in a database format of vacant and underutilized land and buildings in the Pajaro Valley area of Santa Cruz County. The study was financed through a Packard grant and private contributions. Work was supervised by an Advisory Board comprised of a broad spectrum of community members, including City of Watsonville staff, a Watsonville City Council member, a wetlands advocate, agricultural interests and local businesspeople. The results of the inventory will be used to assess the ability of the City of Watsonville and the Counties of Santa Cruz and Monterey to accommodate industrial, residential and commercial growth within the existing urban limit boundaries of the respective communities.
