Mayfair Neighborhood Improvement Plan

DC&E prepared a neighborhood improvement plan for the Mayfair area of San Jose, which was part of the larger city-wide Strong Neighborhoods Initiative program intended to improve neighborhoods by building the capacity of community residents to participate in public decision-making processes. DC&E worked in an extensive community involvement process with the predominantly Latino community and the Mayfair Improvement Initiative to identify physical and program improvements for the neighborhood. The plan included improvements in the areas of traffic calming, affordable housing and parks. The plan also specified new social programs, particularly in education, job training and employment.
