St. John's Church Creek Restoration

St. John's Episcopal Church.

DC&E is preparing the creek restoration concept plan for 600 linear feet of Temescal Creek on the site of St. John’s Church in the Oakland Hills. The Church is expanding it’s sanctuary, and the project includes a new bridge spanning the creek. DC&E has been hired to evaluate the effect that the new bridge will have upon the creek hydrology and to prepare restoration plans for submittal to the City of Oakland. The project will also include realignment of the creek to allow stabilization of a failing bank. The resulting plan will replace exotic vegetation with riparian natives, resulting in a reestablishment of a stable, healthy riparian corridor.
