Solano County, as a subconsultant to EDAW

Located between San Francisco and Sacramento, Solano County is a largely rural county that has long-standing policies to preserve agricultural land and focus development in existing urban areas. For the County’s General Plan Update, DC&E designed and led several interactive public workshops held throughout the process. Additionally, DC&E prepared detailed land use and urban design policies for the Collinsville area of the County, an unincorporated community whose issues included agricultural preservation, wind turbines and access to Suisun Bay. This Collinsville planning process included preparing existing conditions reports, developing land use and design alternatives for each area, holding public workshops on the alternatives, and then crafting specific policy language for incorporation in the General Plan.
