Zoning Code Update and Initial Study/Negative Declaration

Tracy’s 2006 General Plan update, prepared by DC&E, articulates a vision for the city’s long-term physical form and development, including a high-quality design character and the preservation of Tracy’s “hometown feel.” To realize this vision, DC&E is preparing a comprehensive update to the City’s Zoning Code. In addition to implementing new General Plan policies, the Zoning Code will reflect changes to State planning and zoning laws, achieve consistency with City policies and procedures, and improve the usability of the document. As part of the Zoning Code update, DC&E is also preparing two new neo-traditional code sections to implement smart growth concepts in new development.
