Los Angeles County General Plan Vision Statement

Los Angeles County

As the conclusion to a multi-year General Plan Update effort, DC&E drafted the introductory chapter and Vision Statement for the new Los Angeles County General Plan. DC&E wrote the Vision Statement in a manner that evoked the nature of the future of planning and policy-making in the County and described how the County arrived at its current mix of urban, suburban, rural and natural places. Organized around the concept of sustainability, DC&E captured the General Plan’s wide-ranging themes of public health, infrastructure, environmental protection, energy conservation and economic development in the Vision Statement. Using existing County documents, the new General Plan and multiple maps, DC&E creatively wove together a narrative that takes the reader on a journey to some of Los Angeles County’s great places, including the Santa Monica Mountains, Antelope Valley, San Gabriel Valley and East Los Angeles.
