The City of Desert Hot Springs and SCAG selected DC&E to prepare a Visioning Plan for the city's Morongo Wash floodplain area, a 1,500-foot-wide, 9 mile-long strip that splits the City's undeveloped area in half. The project area is partially within the area of the Coachella Valley Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (CVMSHCP), which meant that the Visioning Plan needed to encourage appropriate development while respecting designated conservations areas. DC&E helped the City of Desert Hot Springs develop a cohesive approach and clear vision for development of this area so that it complements the natural surroundings while balancing the goals and objectives of the CVMSHCP. and objectives of the CVMSHCP.
