The University's new Haas School of Business engendered high levels of public concern because its site was at the edge of campus, away from downtown Berkeley, near the Hayward Fault and on the site of two historic buildings. As project manager for this EIR, David Early led a team that completed a full analysis of the historic qualities of on-site buildings, and also analyzed other potential impacts such as trip generation and seismic hazards. The EIR also included analysis of several off-site alternatives to assess the costs and benefits of other potential locations.*
