David Early conducted this assessment of a proposed mixed-use residential and retail project covering a historic city block in downtown San Mateo. The assessment identified the project's impacts on solar access and views from the surrounding community, and it recommended changes in massing and design to better accommodate the existing urban fabric. Key tools used in the assessment were computer-generated photomontages taken from adjacent streets.*
