Civic Center Seismic Retrofit Categorical Exemption

DC&E assisted the Capital Projects Office of the City of Berkeley in justifying the approval of a categorical exemption under CEQA for the completion of seismic safety retrofitting to the City's historic Civic Center Building.  DC&E developed a staff report that explained categorical exemption regulations, exceptions to categorical exemptions, and regulations for categorical exemptions specifically related to historic structures.  For each of these issues, the report explained how the project complied with the regulations and why a categorical exemption was allowable.
