Martinez Massing Study

City of Martinez

DC&E prepared a massing study for a proposed four-unit residential development along Vine Hill Way in Martinez, to be constructed on a site currently designated as open space. The study enabled City staff, decision-makers and the applicant to assess the potential visibility and aesthetic impacts of the proposed development. The study included eight renderings with two scenarios from each of four view points. The two scenarios showed the project with no landscaping and also with a typical three-year growth of front- and side- yard tree plantings as well as the applicant’s proposed Vine Hill Way plantings. The renderings were generalized massing studies of the proposed grading and assumed massing of future residential units. They were prepared using a combination of AutoCAD, 3ds Max and Adobe Photoshop.
