Palm Springs Airport Shuttle Demo Project
Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), as a subconsultant to KOA Corporation
This SCAG Demonstration Project provides assistance to the City of Palm Springs to plan a shuttle service between the Palm Springs Airport and downtown destinations and resorts. To support this effort, DC&E is conducting a GIS-based land use inventory and build-out analysis with a focus on tourism services. Working with the City, DC&E will assemble data regarding local hotels, vacation rentals, retail facilities, and entertainment venues, which will be merged into a GIS database. This database will be used to model shuttle ridership potential and identify shuttle station locations. DC&E's urban design team will also provide design policy recommendations about how to improve pedestrian connectivity between shuttle stations and users' final destinations.
