University of Calfornia at Berkeley

WMA served as a technical consultant for UC Berkeley, the City of Berkeley and a People's Park Community Advisory Board on a wide variety of projects regarding this historic landmark park. These projects included:

• Analyzing the feasibility of "daylighting" and restoring a section of Derby Creek within the park. This involved developing a comprehensive report on hydrological and hydraulic constraints and opportunities and evaluating potential impacts to park programs, design and the surrounding community.
• Developing a vegetation management plan to assist in maintaining the green areas of the park.
• Providing design expertise for a community proposal to construct a pergola along the western edge of the park using volunteer design and labor.
• Developing a recycling program at the park.
• Designing improvements to the northern edge of the park to correct drainage problems, screen dumpsters, and improve the recreation office/ bathroom area.
