Rhythm of the Seasons

DC&E joined forces with John Northmore Roberts & Associates to create a conceptual plan for an interpretive solar center in Berkeley's Cesar Chavez Park.  The Solar Calendar Memorial will be sited on two knolls in the park at the edge of the San Francisco Bay, and will be tied into the educational programs of the Berkeley City schools.  The calendar includes a gnomen, solstice and equinox sunrise and sunset markers, an analemmatic sundial and other types of interactive interpretive elements.  The plan was created in order to allow the client, a non-profit organization, to seek funding and City support.
