Calpine Peaking Plant Site Assessment

DC&E worked to develop two Conceptual Site Plans for the location of a Calpine electrical generating plant in the community of Pajaro in Monterey County. DC&E conducted research with jurisdictions that have recently constructed similar "peaking plants" to learn about potential development standards that might be applied to the Calpine plant in Pajaro. These development standards, once applied in Pajaro, will ensure that the Calpine facility is sited and constructed in a manner that allows for the best possible future uses of the surrounding parcels and the larger Pajaro area. DC&E completed two alternative conceptual site plans for the site, and suggested development standards and a listing of strategies the County might use to achieve development on the site that is sensitive to its context and preserves the future development potential of adjacent parcels.
