Mori Point Trail Planning and Design
Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy
Mori Point encompasses 150 acres along the dramatic northern California coastline just south of Pacifica. After concerted action by local residents, the Pacifica Land Trust, the Coastal Conservancy, and the Trust for Public Land, Mori Point was acquired for permanent preservation and added to the boundaries of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in 2000. DC&E is assisting Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the National Park Service with design of the California Coastal Trail and two east-west connector trails at Mori Point. These trails will offer users access to stunning views and provide important linkages to nearby local, regional and national recreation areas, while protecting sensitive wetlands and special-status species habitat on the site. DC&E is also completing construction documents for the Coastal Trail, including multi-use segments and hiker-only segments. The trails will provide ADA access where possible and will include appropriate trailheads, overlooks, furnishings and interpretive signage.
