Stormwater Handbook Planting Guidelines
Alameda County Clean Water Program, as a subconsultant to EOA
DC&E developed planting guidelines for the Alameda County Clean Water Program (ACCWP) Stormwater Handbook, including reviewing existing data and guidelines and preparing recommendations for the final plant list. The guidelines provide comprehensive background and direction for both the developers and County staff. DC&E presented a variety of plant choices and placement within each stormwater measure prototype. In addition, the guidelines offer recommendations based on type of proposed development, use patterns and desired appearance, and explain how local situations, such as size of area, solar aspect, soil type and substrate material, water retention levels, and degree of saturation and dry periods, might modify applications. DC&E also assisted the ACCWP in reviewing and preparing technical specifications and presenting the guidelines to agency staff and planning professionals.
