Lost Lake Park Master Plan, Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration

Fresno County and the San Joaquin River Conservancy, as a sub consultant to 2M Associates

As one of the County’s largest parks and one of the most accessible public access locations along the San Joaquin River Parkway, Lost Lake Park’s potential to be a regional focal point for outdoor recreation and education within a riverine landscape can not be overstated. In close collaboration with 2M Associates, DC&E is gathering public and stakeholder input and preparing a Master Plan that will transform the existing park into a vibrant county amenity with rehabilitated and improved recreation areas and facilities, providing additional habitat corridors and regional trail and bikeway connectivity. The Master Plan integrates traditional park planning with natural resource management planning and environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This ensures the identification of realistic resource management alternatives for both habitat enhancement and public access, and will lead to a park improvement plan that is to the greatest extent self-mitigating.
