Livermore Vision Project

City of Livermore

DC&E led a major community-wide participation process for the City of Livermore to obtain broad public input on the types of land use and development that should occur in and around the city. First, DC&E conducted three months of extensive outreach and background work, including a community-wide mail survey. Then, DC&E led five public workshops over three months to bring together residents, landowners, business owners, interest groups and community organizations to formulate a shared community vision of the future. The outcome of the workshop process was forwarded to the City Council as physical alternatives and policy directives. The results of the process helped to guide future plans for Livermore, including DC&E's work on the Livermore General Plan update. This project won the Northern California Section APA Award for Comprehensive Planning by a Small Jurisdiction in 2003.

DC&E also created a web site for the Livermore Vision Project.

The Vision Project, along with the Livermore General Plan, won the Northern California APA Chapter Award for Comprehensive Planning in 2003.
