Northeast Livermore Public Facilities Community Input Process
City of Livermore
DC&E conducted a two-part public facilitation process to develop community-based strategies for improving public facilities, including the Springtown Municipal Golf Course, in Northeast Livermore. First, DC&E developed a background inventory of existing public facilities, resident perceptions of those facilities, and possible improvement strategies. Community input for this “conditions and concerns” inventory came from a series of meetings with local stakeholder groups including homeowners associations, Library Board members and Parent-Teacher Associations. DC&E then conducted three community workshops to present background information, discuss possible improvement options and integrate community input into a series of consensus-based improvement strategies. The outcome of the process, an improvement plan for the future of the struggling Springtown Golf Course, was forwarded to the City Council as an official, community-based recommendation for facility improvement.
