Community Based Transportation Plans
Alameda County Congestion Management Agency, the Sonoma County Transportation Authority and the Napa County Transportation Planning Agency
DC&E has led consultant teams in preparing four separate plans for transportation improvements to serve low-income people in communities in Alameda, Oakland, Berkeley, Santa Rosa and Napa. With the assistance of local organizations, DC&E completed outreach and education within each community with the aim of identifying transportation gaps and other neighborhood transportation needs, conducting meetings and data gathering in English, Spanish and other languages. DC&E then worked with a transportation engineering firm to develop comprehensive plans to eliminate these gaps at minimal cost. The resulting Community-Based Transportation Plans prioritize transportation solutions, identify funding sources, and develop strategies for implementing the solutions using MTC Lifeline funds and other funding sources. Local agencies can then use the plans to apply for regional transportation funds.
