Pacifica Bicycle Plan

Pacifica is a city of approximately 40,000 people stretched along the Pacific Ocean just south of San Francisco. DC&E prepared a bicycle plan for Pacifica in association with John Northmore Roberts & Associates. Taking Pacifica's two existing bicycle routes and a decade-old trails plan as a basis, the DC&E plan proposes additions and improvements necessary to provide a safe and efficient network of bikeways connecting major commercial areas and the civic center with schools, open spaces, and other key destinations. The Plan also proposes improved signage and education programs to increase safety and promote bicycle use. Finally, the Plan includes detailed cost estimates and priorities for implementation, so that Pacifica can focus available funds on the areas where they are most needed. The Plan was developed through an extensive public participation process that involved more than one hundred residents who helped set the goals for the Plan and determine the alignment of the bikeways.
