Fremont Pedestrian Master Plan
City of Fremont, as a subconsultant to Alta Planning & Design
The Fremont Pedestrian Master Plan will identify and prioritize specific projects that will encourage walking by improving safety, accessibility and connectivity. The recommended improvements will be based on analysis of existing conditions, research on nationwide best practices and substantial public input. DC&E is responsible for the community involvement and urban design components of the Master Plan process, including three community workshops and a series of meetings with the Bicycle Pedestrian Technical Advisory Committee. DC&E’s work on the Pedestrian Master Plan will build in part on the Fremont Central Business District Concept Plan completed by DC&E, which envisions the Central Business District as a premier pedestrian-scale, mixed-use district.
