St. Vincent's Station Design Competition Entry

St. Vincent's/Silviera property in San Rafael

A group of planners and architects including David Early submitted this entry to a national competition for the St. Vincent's/Silviera lands in Marin County.  Potential development on the project site had generated great public controversy, since the site represented one of the last undeveloped Bay shore sites in the County.  The entry, which was awarded second-place in the overall competition, showed how development could be clustered around the existing St. Vincent's School for Boys to create a traditional small town character while preserving wetlands and views across the site.*
