Larkspur Downtown Specific Plan

City of Larkspur

This plan allowed for the revitalization of the "main street" shopping district in the city of Larkspur, located in Marin County. It set land use, circulation and design policy, and resulted in a major restructuring of Downtown zoning and parking regulations. The plan focused on the creation of improved pedestrian circulation and retail vitality, and set aside locations for two downtown plazas.* This project won the Northern California Section APA Award for Comprehensive Planning by a Small Jurisdiction and the Northern California Chapter ASLA Merit Award in 1994.

The Larkspur Downtown Specific Plan won awards from local chapters of both the American Society of Landscape Architects and the American Planning Association.
