Reno Housing Strategy

DC&E collaborated with Bay Area Economics to complete a residential in-fill study for both market rate and affordable housing. The team completed a site inventory of underutilized parcels, mobile home parks and other potentially developable properties. DC&E completed a detailed review of the regulatory requirements affecting housing development in Reno. DC&E also developed three housing prototypes, which included small-lot single-family housing, mixed-use multi-family development and motel rehabilitation for affordable housing. Recommendations and implementation actions, including developer solicitations, subsidy programs and public/private transaction structuring, were developed and included in the final report.
