East Mount Diablo Boulevard Conceptual Streetscape Plan

DC&E prepared a Streetscape Master Plan for the eastern end of Mount Diablo Boulevard, which is Lafayette's main street. DC&E created two conceptual streetscape alternatives which include roadway designs, landscape treatments, parking arrangements, bus turnouts, bicycle lanes, street lighting, street furniture layout and gateway designs. The alternatives include a roundabout at Carol Lane, relocation of on-street parking, and creation of a boulevard streetscape treatment along Mount Diablo Boulevard. These elements are intended to slow traffic, provide additional and safer parking, improve turning movements, and increase pedestrian safety.
