DC&E is providing land use and urban design services for a Specific Plan covering the 373-acre Dupont Bridgehead site in Oakley. The Specific Plan area includes both a former manufacturing facility and approximately 175 acres of wetlands along the San Joaquin River. The plan will allow for new job-generating development on the site, while addressing the preservation of this valuable recreational and biological resource; the on-going remediation of contamination from previous industrial uses; and a complex schedule of future development. Ultimately, the Specific Plan will provide a framework for efficient, cohesive and high-quality development that will restore the site as a major employment center.
