DC&E is preparing design development and planting plan construction documents for construction of a new streetscape along John Muir Parkway, which is bordered by a creek on the southern side and commercial development on the northern side. DC&E’s design concept is based on principles of sustainability, including drought-tolerant and native plantings, which will lead to long-term benefits reduced costs for water usage and maintenance. The streetscape will also provide a visual barrier between residential areas and a potential big box commercial retail site, while still allowing glimpses of the creek from the Parkway. Construction of the project will begin in the summer of 2006.
